About LPG Systems

LPG systems are typically made up of a number of brand name components supplied in a kit form. Selection of the best equipment for any one vehicle is sometimes a matter of opinion. ABBA with more than 20 years experience with LPG conversions can select the right equipment for your vehicle.

LPG conversions are successful with both carburettor and EFI vehicles. EFI vehicles with an oxygen sensor can utilise a processor (computer) to control LPG mixtures for good performance and economy. The processor controls either a stepper motor in the vapour hose (European systems), or a fuel control valve which regulates mixer diaphram movement (IMPCO systems).

Sedans, wagons, and 4WD vehicles are all popular conversions. With special LPG cylinders manufactured to suit many vehicles including bracketed cylinders and toroidal (Donut) cylinders, conversions are both economical and practical.

Factory Gas Vehicles

Factory gas vehicles have a designed and engineered gas system where the vehicles manufacturer's technicians and Impco Technicians have worked together to produce the highest quality and reliability. The gas system is covered by the vehicle manufacturer for the full extent of their warranty period Australia wide.

Fuel Cost Savings

With LPG typically priced around 1/2 the cost of petrol, and given that you would use approximately 10-20% more volume of LPG to travel the same distance, as compared to unleaded petrol, savings are typically 50% or more when compared to unleaded petrol.

LPG price .55c a litre - consumption is 18 litres/100km - fuel cost to travel 100km is $9.90 - nearly 50% saving
